Sequoyah Hills Oak Knoll Neighborhood Association (SHOKNA) was organized in the 1970s by an active group of neighbors who wanted to make a difference
in the SHOKNA area.
The SHOKNA area includes over 450 homes. Our members have been very active in all facets of community living; from creating a neighborhood pocket park, to keeping the neighborhood streets clean and free of trash; from partnering with the city attorney to force Lehman Bros. to clean up blight at the old Oak Knoll Naval Base, to banding together to fight unreasonable development. We advocate for sustainable communities that respect our neighborhood.
